Why We’re Called The Wandering Kiriko

In Japan’s Noto Peninsula, Kiriko are towering lanterns—carried by communities during festivals to light the way, gather people together, and honor shared tradition.

The Wandering Kiriko takes its name from that spirit.

We are modern nomads—travelers, remote workers, creatives, and builders—moving between cultures with intention. We wander not to consume places, but to connect with them. To share food, music, fashion, business ideas, and stories across borders. To arrive as guests, and leave as friends.

Our journeys are designed to build new relationships between global professionals and rural Japan—supporting local communities, revitalizing regional economies, and creating meaningful cultural exchange that lasts beyond the visit itself.

Like the Kiriko lanterns, we believe light travels best when it’s carried together.

旅は人をつなぐ。
Travel connects people.
